High in the mountains of Huehuetenango, Guatemala lives Jorge Mendez of Finca El Apiario. This coffee is the first we've purchased from Jorge and we’re stoked to share it in our stores (and online) with you. The lot we brought in, “El Panal”, translates to “honeycomb." Speaking of honey, Mr. Mendez also happens to keep bees on his coffee farm, and this year he found a way to get his honey exported & into the US.

It’s normal for coffee farmers to grow other crops as a source of income when coffee is not in season. What’s not normal is for us to have both of those things available to share with you.

We are very excited to share Jorge's beautiful coffee and his delicious honey! 👅

Jorge Mendez

This is our first year working with Jorge; we've brought in his coffee (El Panal), as well as honey from the bees that he keeps on his farm. This is exciting because it means that growing coffee is serving as two sources of income for he and his family. El Panal is delicious. Coffee blossom honey is delicious.
